What we need:

 

Reporting to the Chief Investment and Commercial Officer, the VP, Power Procurement will spearhead the power procurement strategy & contracts across our operations in Asia, integration of renewable energy solutions and support the renewable requirements of hyperscale & cloud customers. The role demands proficiency in procuring power directly from utility grids, acquiring renewable energy through Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), Virtual Power Purchase Agreements (VPPAs), and other innovative structures. This position is based in Singapore.

 

Key Responsibilities:

1)    Grid Power Procurement – Operational & Development Support

 

  • Develop and implement comprehensive strategies to secure reliable and cost-efficient electricity supply for data centers in multiple markets across Asia Pacific.
  • Support local operations teams in the negotiations with utility providers and local suppliers to procure conventional (i.e., “grid”) power for both operational facilities and new developments.
  • Work closely with the Corporate Development team on new site selection, power due diligence, energization schedule and business plan modelling
  • Drive utility interface, quota negotiations, and execution of energy supply agreements and partner closely with the in-country teams.
  • Provide guidance on securing energy quota and capacity to support site selection and development timelines.
  • Ensure compliance with local energy procurement regulations and internal governance standards.

 

2)    Renewable Power & Storage – Transition Strategy & Execution

 

  • Drive the adoption of energy solutions, including PPAs, VPPAs, on-site renewables, and battery storage, to meet company-wide ESG and sustainability targets.
  • Identify and implement hybrid renewable power strategies tailored to each market, whether as sole offtaker or in partnership with customer-driven initiatives.
  • Develop a long-term sustainability roadmap, monitor energy market trends, and identify cost-saving or innovation-driven procurement opportunities.
  • Build and manage relationships with renewable energy developers, aggregators, and other key ecosystem partners throughout key markets in Asia Pacific.
  • Track and report on renewable procurement KPIs including carbon intensity, cost performance, and renewable energy adoption.

 

3)    Hyperscale & Cloud Customer Engagement – Renewable Commitments

 

  • Collaborate with the CCIO and hyperscale sales teams to engage directly with cloud and hyperscale customers on their renewable energy goals.
  • Lead or support negotiations of renewable energy commitments and ensure timely and accurate execution of agreed solutions.
  • Translate customer sustainability objectives / requirements into actionable procurement strategies that align with both regulatory frameworks and our internal power procurement roadmap.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure delivery of renewable energy in line with customer contract terms and reporting needs.

 

 

 

The successful candidate:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Energy Management, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in electricity procurement, energy negotiations, and renewable energy acquisition within the Asia Pacific region.
  • Successful candidates will likely come from a similar role within a grid operator, DC platform, infrastructure, renewable Energy or adjacent industry
  • Proven expertise in structuring and negotiating PPAs, VPPAs, and other renewable energy instruments.
  • Strong knowledge of energy markets, regulations, and sustainability practices in the Asia Pacific region.
  • Exceptional negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
