What we need:
Reporting to the Chief Data Center Operations Officer, this role is responsible for generation of
Operations management reports, certification programs, vendor cost support to Sales team,
implementation of customer orders & operations support to strategic customers. The ideal candidate
will act as a trusted advisor, supporting Sales in cost management for potential customer deals,
implementation of customer signed orders, driving operational excellence and strategic alignment
between strategic customers and operations teams.
Key responsibilities:
The candidate will manage the following teams / functions:
- Capacity, Security & Certifications
- Work with in-country teams to collect and report accurate Capacity, Uptime, Security and Performance data on monthly basis.
- Understanding the training and certification needs of the team and help coordinate with vendor to help employees get up-skilled and the data centers certified.
- Costing Support
- On board vendors while having multi-vendor strategy for each country to support customer build, in a cost effective, standardized, and scalable way.
- Have a ready updated list of SKU, pricing & timelines from all vendors in all regions so we can have a quick turn round for customer RFP.
- Implementations Management
- Coordinate with customers, internal team, and vendors to ensure we are implementing and delivering solutions to the customers accurately and on time delivery.
- Be an extension of Sales and Sales Engineering team to ensure a smooth delivery.
- Strategic Operations Support
- Be the single point of contact for all things operations for strategic hyperscale customers, which includes being single point of escalation, especially during incident recovery.
- Be part of the Monthly Business review (MBR), understand the customer needs & giving them similar experience across the region.
- Provide feedback to sales / management for customer upcoming requirements.
- Creating a good customer experience throughout the life cycle of the customer deployment.
- Actively champion and implement the organization’s policies on health & safety, environment, energy, quality, information security, and business continuity, ensuring adherence to incident reporting, legal, and regulatory requirements.
The successful candidate:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, IT, Computer Science, or related field from an accredited college or university
- 15+ years of experience in data centre operations, service delivery or technical account management & at least 5 years in a management role
- Experience working with hyperscale customers in data centre, cloud, or IT services. (e.g. AWS, MSFT, Google Cloud, Alibaba, Tencent,..)
- Good understanding of data center MEP infrastructure, BMS, maintenance and operational workflows.
- Familiar with data centre related certifications, such as CDCP, CDCS or equivalent
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with ITIL, ISO standards, and service management tools (e.g., ServiceNow, MCIM,..).
- Team player willing to be hands-on in a dynamic and fast paced environment
- Well organized & able to think rationally during fault / issue resolution
- Strategic mindset with a customer-first approach
- Fluency in English and additional language e.g. Mandarin, will be an advantage
