What we need:

 

The Senior Program Manager is responsible for leading large-scale, complex programs across multiple projects, ensuring alignment with strategic business objectives. This role requires strong leadership, cross-functional coordination, and the ability to drive execution in fast-paced, high-stakes environments such as Data Center development, infrastructure deployment, or technology transformation initiatives.

This role reports to the Operations Director, Japan, and is based in Tokyo, Japan.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead end-to-end program management for multiple concurrent projects (e.g., data center development, fit-out, infrastructure retrofit, capacity expansion)
  • Define program scope, objectives, timelines, and success metrics aligned with business strategy
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration across engineering, construction, operations, procurement, and external vendors and partners
  • Establish and maintain program governance, reporting structures, and stakeholder communication
  • Identify risks and issues proactively; develop mitigation and contingency plans
  • Manage budgets, forecasts, and financial performance of the program
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, safety, and quality standards
  • Oversee vendor selection, contract management, and performance evaluation
  • Track program KPIs and deliver executive-level reporting
  • Prepare and present regular project updates to senior stakeholders
  • Own and resolve a wide range of standard and non-standard customer requests, and propose or develop cross-functional solutions for non-standard requests
  • Deliver projects on time, under budget.
  • Drive continuous improvement in program management processes and tools
  • Actively champion and implement policies and procedures for occupational health & safety in the workplace, information security management, environmental management systems; incident management; and comply with all legal regulatory requirements of the organization

 

Actively champion and implement the organization’s policies on health & safety, environment, energy, quality, information security, and business continuity, ensuring adherence to incident reporting, legal, and regulatory requirements. 

 

The successful candidate:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Management, Business, or a related field
  • 812+ years of experience in program/project management, preferably in Data Centers, infrastructure, or large-scale construction
  • Proven track record of delivering complex and time sensitive, multi-million dollar programs on time and within budget
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, Agile)
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Experience managing cross-functional and geographically distributed teams
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities
  • Collaborative personality and able to build strong personal relationships
  • Highly organized, with attention to detail and dedication to resolving issues
  • Embrace changes
  • Native to very fluent level of Japanese and business English is essential
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, high-pressure environment

 


Preferred qualifications

  • Experience in hyperscale data center environments (e.g., cloud providers)
  • Familiarity with MEP systems, critical infrastructure, or mission-critical facilities
  • PMP or equivalent certification
  • Experience working in international and multicultural environments
  • Experience in hyperscale or colocation data center projects
  • Knowledge of local codes, permits, and regulatory requirements
