What we need:

 

Reporting to the Commercial Contracting Lead, this role will be responsible for handling customer contracting, procurement, and construction matters. This role will be based in Singapore.

 

 

Key responsibilities:

 

  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including customer contracts, service level agreements, and non-disclosure agreements.
  • Provide legal support and guidance on procurement matters, including drafting and negotiating supply agreements, vendor contracts, and service agreements.
  • Advise on construction-related legal matters, such as drafting, reviewing and negotiating construction contracts, subcontractor agreements, and engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contracts.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, operations, finance, and technical teams, to ensure legal compliance and mitigate risks in commercial transactions.
  • Provide legal opinions and advice on regulatory compliance matters in connection with responsibility areas (including data privacy, cybersecurity, and environmental regulations).
  • Monitor legal developments in the industry, focusing on key responsibility areas and provide updates and guidance to the organization on relevant legal issues and best practices.
  • Manage outside counsel and legal service providers as needed to support the company's legal needs.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of legal policies, procedures, and templates to streamline the contracting process and ensure consistency across the organization.
  • Actively champion and implement policies and procedures for occupational health & safety in the workplace, information security management, environmental management systems; incident management; and comply with all legal regulatory requirements of the organization

 

 

The successful candidate:

 

  • Qualified lawyer with admission to practice law in Hong Kong, Australia, Singapore, the United Kingdom, or the United States.
  • 7-10 years of post-qualification experience (PQE) in commercial contracting, procurement, and construction law, preferably with experience in the data center or technology industry.
  • Strong drafting, negotiation, and contract management skills, with a proven ability to handle complex commercial transactions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide practical and commercially-oriented legal solutions.
  • Proactive and self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in English is required, with fluency in Mandarin or other Asian languages being an advantage.
  • Prior experience working in-house or in a law firm supporting clients in the data center, technology, or telecommunications industries.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard contracts and best practices in the data center and technology sectors.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work in a dynamic and rapidly-evolving industry.
  • Strong commitment to professional ethics and integrity.
