What we need:

 

Reporting to the Finance Manager of Digital Edge Japan, this role will act as the key point of contact for all accounting and financial reporting matters, working closely with HQ finance team in SG/HK and lead the preparation of all management and statutory financial reporting. This role will be based in Tokyo Head office located in Otemachi.

 

Key responsibilities:

 

  • Oversee end-to-end billing operations, including invoice issuance, handling IT issues, addressing customer inquiries and supporting sales requests related to billings.
  • Monitor and follow up on uncollected receivables, ensuring timely resolution and alignment with credit policies.
  • Prepare monthly revenue analysis (MRA), conduct movement analysis for country reporting, and support management reporting requirements.
  • Execute monthly closing activities, including FX rate updates, expense reconciliation, AR reconciliation for specific accounts, and financial statement reviews.
  • Review and approve monthly accruals, revenue deferrals, and related journal entries to ensure compliance with accounting standards and group policy.
  • Coordinate tax reporting, liaise with external advisors, and ensure timely filings in compliance with Japanese tax regulations.
  • Support annual statutory and group audit processes, including preparation of schedules, responding to auditor requests, and ensuring timely completion.
  • Support onboarding and internal control processes (e.g., T&E system induction, Rydoo expense tool administration).
  • Actively champion and implement policies and procedures for occupational health & safety in the workplace, information security management, environmental management systems; incident management; and comply with all legal regulatory requirements of the organization.

 

The successful candidate:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Finance and / or accounting disciplines
  • CPA or equivalent qualified preferred but not must
  • 5+ years’ experience in a multi-country / regional environment
  • Experience in telecommunications / digital infrastructure sectors is beneficial
  • Finance Process integration or establishment experience is plus
  • A team player willing to be hands on in a dynamic and fast paced environment
  • Strong project management, presentation, communication and analytical skills

Fluent English (preferrable) and Japanese
