What we need:

 

Reporting to DC Operation Site Manager. The Data Center Security Officer is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of physical security operations within the data center environment. This includes governance of outsourced security vendors, development and enforcement of security procedures, incident management, and ensuring the effectiveness of security systems and controls to protect critical infrastructure and customer assets.

 

This role will be based in Chonburi, Thailand.

 

Key responsibilities:

 

  • Security Operations & Governance: Develop, implement, and continuously improve data center security processes, SOPs, and operational procedures. Ensure compliance with internal standards, customer requirements, and relevant certifications (e.g., ISO 27001, ISO 22301, SOC2) and conduct regular inspections, and risk assessments of security operations. Support internal and external audits related to physical security. Ensure adherence to regulatory and contractual security requirements.
  • Vendors & Guard Force Management: Participate in selecting outsource vendor. Manage outsourced security service providers, including guard force performance, deployment, and conduct. Monitor SLAs for security vendors. Conduct regular training, briefings, and performance review meetings with vendors. Ensure adequate staffing levels and competency of security personnel deployed.
  • Incident Management & Response: Lead and manage security incidents, including unauthorized access, breaches, theft, and safety-related events. Ensure proper incident reporting, investigation, prepare incident report, root cause analysis, and corrective actions. Escalate and coordinate with internal stakeholders and external authorities when required.

 

  • Physical Security Management: Oversee access control processes including visitor management, access card applications and renewal, contractor access, and staff access governance. Ensure strict adherence to access control policies and zoning requirements. Conduct regular patrol audits and compliance checks.
  • Security Systems Management: Oversee operations and maintenance of all security subsystems including Video management system, ACS, etc… Work with vendors and internal teams on system maintenance, upgrades, and troubleshooting. Participate in system testing, commissioning, and Integrated System Testing (IST).
  • SOC (Security Operations Center) Coordination: Work closely with SOC teams to ensure effective monitoring, escalation, and response.  Define monitoring protocols, alarm response procedures, and escalation matrix. Review SOC performance and optimize monitoring efficiency.
  • Projects & Continuous Improvement: Support new data center builds and upgrades by providing security input and operational requirements. Drive security automation, standardization, and process improvement initiatives.     

Actively champion and implement the organizations policies on health & safety, environment, energy, quality, information security, and business continuity, ensuring adherence to incident reporting, legal, and regulatory requirements.

 

The successful candidate:

 

  • Diploma / Bachelor’s degree in Security Management, Engineering, IT, or related field.
  • Minimum 5–10 years of experience in physical security operations, preferably in data Centers, critical infrastructure, high-security environments.
  • Experience managing outsourced security vendors and guard forces.
  • Familiarity with security standards (ISO 27001, SOC2, TIA-942) is an advantage.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal skills, and ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment and cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to communicate in Thai and English are required.  Mandarin and an additional Asian language will be an advantage.
