What we need:

 

This role serves as the Regional EHS lead for Southeast Asia (SEA), overseeing EHS performance across ongoing developments and operational data center assets.

The role works closely with Construction, Operations, and regional and country leadership teams to ensure strong EHS culture, governance, and regulatory compliance throughout project and operational lifecycles, while providing oversight and direction to country EHS leaders.

This role will be based in Singapore, with regular travel across SEA.

 

 

Key responsibilities:

 

  • Provide strategic EHS leadership and regional oversight across SEA construction and operational data center assets.
  • Set regional EHS priorities, performance expectations, and governance frameworks aligned with corporate standards.
  • Provide direction, coaching, and oversight to country EHS leaders.
  • Ensure consistent implementation of corporate EHS systems, standards, and procedures across all SEA markets.
  • Monitor regional EHS performance metrics, trends, and leading indicators, and drive accountability at country level.
  • Review significant incidents and high-potential events across the region, ensuring robust investigations, root cause analysis, and application of lessons learned.
  • Participate in strategic general contractor selection, regional performance reviews, and high-risk contractor oversight.
  • Engage with regional Construction and Operations leadership to manage high-risk activities and emerging operational risks.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements across all covered markets and alignment with international best practices.
  • Communicate regional EHS performance and key risks to SEA leadership and contribute to executive reporting.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and strengthen EHS culture across all SEA sites.
  • Support EHS inputs for customer requirements, lender engagements, and external stakeholder reporting where required.
  • Actively champion and implement the organization’s policies on health & safety, environment, energy, quality, information security, and business continuity, ensuring adherence to incident reporting, legal, and regulatory requirements.

 

The successful candidate:

  • Degree or diploma in Environmental, Health & Safety or a related discipline, with recognized professional certifications (e.g., NEBOSH or equivalent).
  • 15+ years of progressive EHS experience, including regional leadership roles overseeing large-scale construction and mission-critical or high-risk environments (e.g., data centers, semiconductor, energy, or major infrastructure projects).
  • Demonstrated experience leading multi-country EHS teams and driving consistent governance standards across diverse regulatory environments.
  • Strong track record influencing senior regional leadership, general contractors, and operational stakeholders to achieve measurable EHS performance improvements.
  • Deep understanding of international EHS standards and practical experience navigating Southeast Asia regulatory frameworks.
  • Comfortable operating in fast-paced, high-growth environments and travelling regularly across the region.
  • Fluent in English; additional Southeast Asian language capability is an advantage.
