What we need:

 

Reporting to the Regional Commercial and Procurement Director, this role will organize and oversee construction procurement and ensure projects are completed in a timely and efficient manner. Working with the Construction Development team from inception, due diligence, and Basis of Design (BOD) creation to Real Estate Investment Committee (REIC) presentations through to successful close-out, with specific focus on the procurement of consultants, long lead equipment and network hardware. This role will be based in Singapore.

 

Key responsibilities:

 

  • Collaborate closely with the Regional Commercial Management team, providing regular reporting and updates to ensure alignment between commercial objectives and overall project goals, and report directly to the Regional Commercial Director.
  • Provide commercial and procurement support to the local Construction Director, ensuring alignment with overall project objectives and goals.
  • Develop and manage relationships with all key stakeholders and subcontractors to ensure transparency and communication of project delivery timeliness and that quality meets the Company’s design standards
  • Support and contribute the development of business cases for new investment opportunities together with Corporate Development and the Regional Construction & Development teams until project completion
  • Ensures best practices, continuous improvement, maximization of opportunities and risk management processes are put in place to safeguard the commercial interests of the company
  • Assist in developing construction change management and scope management
  • Develop and manage in-country CAPEX budgets and forecast estimation to support decision-making
  • Monitor and tracks project progress and financial performance/cost report including alignment with the Finance record and Procurement to Pay (P2P) system
  • Compile all Tender Reports documentation for 3QF approval including submission and obtaining approval 
  • Create purchase requisition and coordinate with the Finance team to ensure timely processing and issuance of purchase order
  • Draft, review, and manage all project contracts, including Project Service Agreements for consultants and contractors including obtaining all necessary signatories and approval
  • Resolve contract dispute and implement effective resolution strategies
  • Maintain comprehensive records of contract documentation and amendment
  • Oversee the procurement and management of local external cost consultants/quantity surveyor throughout the entire project lifecycle
  • Lead the procurement process for all construction-related works including other CAPEX-funded indirect works
  • Actively champion and implement policies and procedures for occupational health & safety in the workplace, information security management, environmental management systems; incident management; and comply with all legal regulatory requirements of the organization.

 

 

The successful candidate:

 

  • Degree or Associate Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or Quantity Surveying background
  • 7 to 10 years+ of relevant professional and project delivery experiences in APAC and/or in construction multi-site data centre portfolios (> USD1B)
  • Subject matter expert knowledge of data center cost and commercials, construction capital projects strategy and supply chain
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Flexible, agile, and forward thinker who thrives on continuous change of direction
