What we need:

Reporting to Director of Commissioning, this newly created role will lead engineering operations for mission-critical data centers across Asia. You’ll ensure the reliability and efficiency of mechanical, electrical, and control systems while driving sustainability and innovation.

Key responsibilities include overseeing preventive maintenance, root cause analysis, and commissioning for new builds and retrofits, as well as acting as the primary point of contact for fit-out projects and customer customization requests.

Key responsibilities

• Direct and oversee day-to-day engineering operations across multiple data centre facilities
• Ensure uninterrupted availability of power, cooling, and other essential systems to support 24x7 operations
• Implement and monitor preventive and predictive maintenance programs to ensure system reliability
• Lead root cause analysis and corrective action planning for critical incidents affecting the reliability of the data centre
• Collaborate with engineering and construction teams to support new builds, retrofits, and capacity expansion projects
• Ensure the adoption of industry best practices and alignment with global standards
• Drive improvement initiatives focused on operational efficiency, sustainability, and reliability
• Lead risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies to enhance resiliency
• Part takes in the project Commissioning efforts during Commissioning Level 4 and Level 5
• Work with vendors / partners to develop and record critical equipment settings across all sites
• Assist in the development of Commissioning standards and requirements for DE, capturing the testing requirement/procedure for the Data center build. 
• Support the Country Facility team in the evaluation of customers (existing & potential) request for site customization / operating environment variations

• Actively champion and implement policies and procedures for occupational health & safety in the workplace, information security management, environmental management systems; incident management; and comply with all legal regulatory requirements of the organization

The successful candidate:

• Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
• 10 years+ of relevant professional experience in mission-critical data centre operationsin APAC 
• Strong knowledge of MEP systems, controls, monitoring, and operational standards
• Experience working in regional environments with hyperscale, colocation, or enterprise data centre
• Subject matter expert knowledge of data center operations, commercials, construction capital projects strategy and supply chain
• Understand the commissioning process
• Willingness to Travel as Needed
• Strong MS Excel, Words, Project and PowerPoint skills
• Strong problem-solving abilities and decision-making skills
• Team player who values collaboration with stakeholders
• Flexible, agile, and forward thinker who thrives on continuous change of direction
• Independent decision-maker who takes communicates their own ownership and accountability
• Knowledge of financial aspects of contracting business and program build reporting
