What we need:
As we expand our footprint in Thailand, we are seeking an experienced Operations Director to lead the BKK Campus operations through commissioning, Ready-for-Service (RFS), and steady-state operations.
The role is reporting to the Chief Data Center Operations Officer and dotted to Country Manager, DE Thailand, this role will be the leader of the BKK DC Operations Team and is responsible for the effective operations, service uptime of the Data Centers in Thailand, operational process compliance and development of the operations team. The role is required to provide recommendations and drive actions to ensure the Thailand DCs achieves it’s revenue and strategic goals, and be able to interact effectively with management, employees and customers.
Key responsibilities:
Operational Readiness & Commissioning
- Lead operational readiness for new data center delivery, including active engagement throughout testing & commissioning (T&C), integrated systems testing (IST), and final operational acceptance.
- Establish and formally validate operational readiness prior to Ready-for-Service (RFS), with authority to escalate unresolved operational risks.
- Develop and implement Day-0, Day-1 and early-life operations frameworks.
Service Delivery & Uptime
- Own 24/7 service delivery performance and ensure SLA and uptime targets are consistently met or exceeded.
- Act as Incident Commander during major operational events, ensuring structured decision-making, disciplined escalation, executive reporting and robust root cause analysis.
- Establish shift governance standards, including handover discipline, incident rehearsal drills and post-incident review frameworks.
Operational Model & Governance
- Design and continuously improve the campus operational model, including staffing structures, procedures (SOP/MOP/EOP), tooling, reporting and governance.
- Drive capacity governance across space, power and cooling to ensure resiliency headroom and prevent operational risk exposure.
- Lead customer ticket management, service delivery KPIs and customer engagement related to operational matters.
Cross-Functional & Commercial Support
- Partner with the Facility Director to ensure seamless integration between service delivery and plant reliability.
- Support Sales Engineering and Product teams in solution reviews and hyperscale engagements.
- Collaborate with Platform teams to ensure alignment of standards and performance metrics.
Compliance & Financial Management
- Ensure compliance with operational certifications including ISO 27001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, PCI DSS and other applicable standards.
- Own operational budgeting, cost control and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and customer experience
Actively champion and implement the organization’s policies on health & safety, environment, energy, quality, information security, and business continuity, ensuring adherence to incident reporting, legal, and regulatory requirements.
The successful candidate:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline.
- 15+ years of experience in mission-critical facilities and/or data center operations, including greenfield delivery and early-life operations.
- Minimum 5 years in a senior leadership role managing 24/7 operations teams.
- Strong knowledge of electrical distribution, cooling systems, fire protection and BMS/EPMS environments.
- Demonstrated experience in commissioning engagement and operational acceptance.
- Data center certifications (e.g., CDCP, CDCS or equivalent) preferred.
- Strong financial acumen in OpEx/ CapEx and budget management.
- Fluency in English and Thai.
