What we need:
This role is responsible for supporting the monitoring, tracking, and reporting of costs across the organization’s data center construction, operations, and capital projects. The Cost Control Officer will assist in maintaining accurate budget records, tracking expenditures against approved budgets, and flagging variances to support disciplined cost management.
This role is based in Jakarta and will work closely with Finance, Procurement, Project Management, and other internal stakeholders to support day-to-day cost tracking and reporting across projects and operations.
Key responsibilities:
- Track and record project and operating costs against approved budgets, updating cost tracking sheets and systems on a regular basis.
- Assist in monitoring actual expenditure versus budget and forecast, and highlight variances to the Cost Control Manager or supervisor.
- Prepare routine cost reports, cash flow updates, and cost tracking summaries for management review.
- Check and verify vendor and contractor invoices and payment requests against purchase orders, contracts, and approved budgets.
- Assist in preparing cost estimates and budget inputs for new projects, purchase requests, and change orders.
- Support coordination with Procurement on purchase orders, contract values, and change request cost implications.
- Maintain and update cost control registers, commitment logs, and accrual records to keep financial data accurate and current.
- Assist with month-end and project cost reconciliation, ensuring records align with finance and accounting systems.
- Compile data for cost analysis, benchmarking, and variance reporting as requested by supervisors.
- Maintain proper filing and documentation of cost records, invoices, and supporting schedules for audit purposes.
- Support internal and external audits by preparing and organizing requested cost data and documentation.
- Actively champion and implement the organization's policies on health & safety, environment, energy, quality, information security, and business continuity.
- Perform other cost control and administrative duties as assigned.
The successful candidate:
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 1–3 years of experience in cost control, cost administration, or a similar finance/project support role; experience in data center, construction, or infrastructure projects is an advantage.
- Basic understanding of budgeting, cost tracking, and project financial reporting processes.
- Comfortable reviewing invoices, purchase orders, and basic contract documents.
- Good numerical and analytical skills, with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with ERP or project control systems is a plus.
- Good communication skills and a proactive, organized approach to work.
- Able to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Fluent in English and proficiency in Bahasa Indonesia is preferred.
