The Network Engineer is responsible for the implementation, operation, maintenance, and support of our core network transport infrastructure (LAN/WAN/Data Center) across all critical operational environments, starting with BOM1. This hands-on role ensures that our network infrastructure is maintained to the highest standards of performance and reliability. This role reports to Operations Manager, and will be based in Singapore.
Key responsibilities:
- Network Implementation and Core Transport
- Implement, configure, and install network hardware, including routers, switches, wireless access points and firewalls based on validated designs and engineering standards.
- Execute configuration changes and turn-up of advanced transport technologies, including EVPN, MPLS and VxLAN for scalable data center and WAN interconnectivity.
- Perform physical layer work and demonstrate a good operational understanding of DWDM technology and Fiber Optics Network principles for maintenance and fault isolation.
- Manage and optimize network routing and switching protocols (STP, OSPF, ISIS, LDP, BGP).
- Network Operations, Maintenance, and Support
- Maintain and update network hardware, operating systems and configuration in adherence to change control policies.
- Carry out planned maintenance with minimal service disruption, ensuring customer impact is clearly communicated and controlled.
- Provide advanced troubleshooting and support for escalated network incidents, quickly diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and configuration issues to ensure minimal downtime. This requires a strong understanding of the TCP/IP stack to perform in-depth packet analysis and protocol-level debugging.
- Take part in a rotating on-call schedule to provide 24/7 incident response for critical network infrastructure.
- Project Management and Efficiency
- Lead and coordinate network implementation projects from the operational side, ensuring on-time delivery of network components and seamless integration with existing infrastructure.
- Manage project timelines, resources, and communication with internal stakeholders and vendors during implementation and migration phases.
- Drive operational efficiency by automating repetitive configuration and operational tasks using scripting languages like Python or network automation tools like Ansible.
- Collaborate with SRE and development teams to ensure network configuration meets application requirements.
- Documentation & Reporting
- Develop and execute detailed Method of Procedure (MOPs) for service turn ups, migrations, upgrades and decommissioning.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation such as High-Level Design (HLD) and Low-Level Design (LLD) which including up-to-date network diagrams, runbooks, and operational procedures.
Actively champion and implement policies and procedures for occupational health & safety in the workplace, information security management, environmental management systems; incident management; and comply with all legal regulatory requirements of the organization.
The successful candidate:
- Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience is preferred in network deployment, operation and support in large enterprise or data center.
- Must have at least CCNA or equivalent certification, advantage to have CCNP or equivalent.
- Advantage to have ITIL Certification.

- Possess network project management skill with technical knowledge in Network.
- Possess excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills, with a methodical approach to complex troubleshooting.
