What we need:

 

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer who will oversee the on-site construction activities related to design coordination, schedule management, quality assurance, EHS, testing, commissioning & IST activities for all mechanical equipment’s (mainly HVAC/ services and related controls for an large capacity green field data centre along with HSD , FPS & PHE system

This role will be based at site in Navi Mumbai.

 

Key responsibilities:

 

  • Be a site SPOC for installation of HVAC, Chilled water piping. AHU, TFA, CRAH & CRAC, Cooling towers & associated mechanical infrastructure in coordination with respective stakeholders. Oversee HSD , FPS & PHE system.
  • Be a technical bridge between design/ consultants and contractors / vendors.
  • Review & guide contractors on schedule, sequence of construction, resource deployment etc.
  • Ensure effective coordination between various MEP contractors / vendors to avoid errors & reworks. Coordinate with electrical, BMS , ELV & civil teams to resolve interface issues.
  • Oversee and guide mechanical contractors / vendors on ensuring high quality of installations. Monitor contractor progress and prepare daily/weekly progress reports.
  • Review and provide feedback on mockups, samples, work/ method statement. Manage material deliveries, material inspection & storage at site in coordination with GC & QC team.
  • Review safety plans, work permits, and risk mitigation plans for mechanical equipment installations.
  • Assist in snagging, snag closure & handover documents
  • Review testing & commissioning results and certify for compliance.
  • Certify running bills, installation compliance to defined quality standards.
  • Travel (including out of country) for witnessing equipment factory tests and other business needs.
  • Actively champion and implement the organization’s policies on health & safety, environment, energy, quality, information security, and business continuity, ensuring adherence to incident reporting, legal, and regulatory requirements. 

 

The successful candidate:

 

  • Mechanical Engineering/ Diploma graduate with Minimum 8 years of onsite experience in installation, testing, commission of mechanical equipment & services with specific focus on large capacity chillers, cooling towers, AHU, Generators, piping, fire hydrant, fuel storage /distribution system, CPM, fuel automation for large data center, telecom, IT campus, industrial projects.
  • Minimum of 5 years of onsite experience in overseeing HVAC and Mechanical (HSD, Fire & PHE) activities for a data center is essential.
  • Good knowledge on the latest requirements data center / hyperscale standards is essential. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings   
  • Good spoken & written communications skills are essential.
  • Have good interpersonal skills with ability to engage with various stakeholders. 
  • HVAC course by ASHRAE or equivalent is desirable. Proficiency in ACC Autodesk & MS Office.
