Manager, Special Projects (Construction)

What we need:

We are seeking a Special Project Manager to drive high-impact, time-critical initiatives across our fast-growing Emerging Markets portfolio.

This is a roving project delivery role reporting directly to the Director, PMO.

The successful candidate will parachute into priority projects to resolve challenges, de-risk schedules, and lead targeted construction and commissioning scopes, working side-by-side with local and platform teams to keep programs on track.

Key Responsibilities:

Rapid Project Deployment

• Act as the point lead for special assignments across multiple countries, supporting the VP Construction on emerging and growth market projects.
• Mobilize quickly to sites that require additional leadership, whether during pre-construction, active build, or commissioning phases.

Project Delivery & Execution

• Oversee specific construction packages or recovery plans, ensuring safe, on-time, and cost-effective outcomes.
• Coordinate closely with local project teams, design consultants, and contractors to close gaps, remove blockers, and drive critical path activities.

Governance & Controls

• Apply Digital Edge construction governance frameworks: schedule management, change control, quality assurance, HSE, and risk mitigation.
• Provide transparent reporting of progress, risks, and mitigations to the VP Construction and senior stakeholders.

Cross-Functional Interface

• Collaborate with internal design, procurement, operations, and commercial teams to resolve construction-phase conflicts and optimize buildability.
• Lead value engineering or logistics reviews to maintain momentum without compromising standards.

Commissioning Support

• Support or lead targeted testing & commissioning (T&C) efforts, validating sequence of operations and integrated systems testing to meet handover criteria.

Candidate Profile:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline.

• 8+ years in data center or mission-critical infrastructure construction.
• Proven track record delivering complex projects in Asia or other emerging markets.
• Strong familiarity with QA/QC, HSE, commissioning processes, and international codes/standards (NFPA, ASHRAE, IEC, ISO).

• Hands-on problem solver who thrives in fast-paced, high-growth environments.
• Strong stakeholder management, able to influence across internal teams and external partners.
• Willingness to travel extensively and mobilize on short notice across the region.
• Certifications: PMP, LEED AP or equivalent is a plus.
