What we need:
Reporting to the Group ESG Director with dotted line to Country Manager, this role will serve as the focal point for all in-country technical EHS matters– making impacts during development and operation of data centers. This role will also build EHS culture and steer construction projects and operational data centers towards higher performance. The EHS Manager will work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to solve problems and achieve EHS objectives. This role is based in a data center in Chonburi, Thailand.
Key responsibilities:
- Serve as the key EHS interface for hyperscale customers and external stakeholders, facilitating safety reviews, audits, and coordination meetings, and ensuring responsive, transparent communication on all EHS matters.
- Monitor and enforce compliance with local, state, and national EHS regulations, as well as relevant industry standards across campus.
- Conduct campus-specific EHS risk assessments for both construction and operational phases.
- Ensure effective implementation of EHS training programs for employees, contractors, and visitors at our campus, verifying required competencies.
- Ensure that all contractors and vendors involved in data-center construction and operations adhere to the company’s EHS policies and safety protocols.
- Foster a positive EHS culture by promoting accountability and ownership; nurture a growth mindset that encourages learning.
- Lead investigations into EHS incidents, identify root causes, and implement improvement actions while ensuring timely reporting to relevant stakeholders.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections across construction and operational phases to verify compliance and identify areas for improvement.
- Review and implement campus-specific emergency response plans for each data-center location, ensuring readiness for fires and other emergencies.
- Serve as the in-country focal point for certification and external audit programs, including ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 14064 and support others such as LEED.
- Track, analyze, and report on EHS performance metrics to senior management, providing insights for continuous improvement across campus.
- Actively champion and implement the organization’s policies on health & safety, environment, energy, quality, information security, and business continuity, ensuring adherence to incident reporting, legal, and regulatory requirements.
The successful candidate:
- Diploma / Bachelor in Environmental, Occupational Health and Safety from an accredited college/university or NEBOSH equivalent qualifications
- Minimum 8 years of EHS work experience, with at least 3 years in mission-critical projects or facilities.
- Must be physically capable of walking long distances, walk-up stairs and climbing ladders.
- Bilingual in Thai and English
