What we need:
The MCIM Engineer is accountable for country and site-level administration, data integrity, workflow compliance and operational adoption of the Mission Critical Infrastructure Management platform across assigned data center facilities. Reporting directly to the in-country Manager, Operations Support, with a dotted-line reporting relationship to the platform Director, MCIM and Asset Management, the role ensures critical assets, maintenance activities, incidents, operational changes, corrective actions and supporting evidence are accurately managed through MCIM as the authoritative operational system of record.
The role acts as the primary interface between Facility Operations and the central MCIM Platform team, translating platform standards, asset taxonomies, workflows and governance requirements into disciplined country and site-level execution. The MCIM Engineer supports users, monitors compliance, validates operational data, coordinates system improvements and ensures activities undertaken by employees, contractors and service providers are complete, traceable and audit-ready.
The Director, MCIM and Asset Management owns platform strategy, system standards, core workflow design, configuration governance, asset taxonomy and cross-country standardization. The in-country Manager, Operations Support owns local leadership, prioritization and integration of MCIM requirements into country operations. Facility Operations remains accountable for the safe and correct execution of operational work. The MCIM Engineer does not replace these accountabilities but ensures the work is properly planned, controlled, recorded and evidenced through the platform.
Key responsibilities:
- Own country and site-level MCIM administration, adoption, data integrity and workflow compliance across assigned data center facilities, ensuring the platform is consistently used for applicable asset, maintenance, incident, change, corrective-action and operational activities.
- Maintain complete and accurate critical infrastructure asset records, including asset classifications, hierarchies, technical attributes, equipment relationships, dependencies, maintenance requirements, lifecycle status and supporting documentation.
- Coordinate asset-data preparation, validation, migration and reconciliation during new facility delivery, commissioning, operational readiness, expansion, retrofit, equipment replacement and decommissioning activities.
- Administer preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance workflows within MCIM, ensuring work orders are properly planned, authorized, assigned, executed, evidenced, reviewed and closed in accordance with approved maintenance strategies and operating requirements.
- Govern site-level incident, root cause and corrective-action records, ensuring events are correctly classified, escalated and linked to affected assets, with complete evidence and timely investigation, verification and closure of corrective and preventive actions.
- Administer operational change workflows, verifying that changes include the required scope, risk assessment, technical and operational review, authorization, implementation planning, asset linkage, communications, execution evidence and post-implementation validation.
- Monitor data quality and workflow performance, identifying incomplete records, untracked activities, duplicated data, configuration inconsistencies, control gaps and deviations from approved platform standards, and coordinating timely corrective action.
- Support MCIM implementation, configuration, enhancement, upgrade, integration, pilot and user acceptance testing activities, documenting operational requirements and validating that workflows and system outputs are effective for live data center operations.
- Develop operational dashboards and recurring reports, provide user training and first-line process support, and support internal and customer audits through accurate records, traceable workflows, complete evidence and timely remediation of identified gaps.
Actively champion and implement the organization’s policies on health & safety, environment, energy, quality, information security, and business continuity, ensuring adherence to incident reporting, legal, and regulatory requirements.
The successful candidate:
- Relevant experience in data center operations, critical facilities, infrastructure asset management, maintenance planning, operational systems administration or a comparable mission-critical or high-availability environment.
- Relevant degree, diploma or professional qualification in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, building services engineering, facilities management, information systems, asset management or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- Practical experience using or administering CMMS, DCIM, EAM, work-order management, asset-management, maintenance-management or comparable operational platforms.
- Strong working knowledge of asset lifecycle management, preventive and corrective maintenance, incident management, change control, operational risk assessment, corrective-action management and audit evidence requirements.
- Demonstrated experience maintaining accurate asset and operational data, resolving data-quality issues and record inconsistencies, and producing reliable operational reports and dashboards.
- Experience supporting system implementation, workflow configuration, data migration, platform enhancement, user acceptance testing or the integration of operational technology and enterprise systems.
- Sound understanding of data center critical infrastructure, including electrical, mechanical, controls, monitoring, life-safety and associated building systems.
- Proven ability to work across Facility Operations, Engineering Operations, digital platform teams, project teams, contractors, vendors and service providers, supported by strong analytical, organizational, documentation and problem-solving capability.
- Must have strong English-language verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to deliver user training, prepare high-quality operational reports, communicate compliance requirements and engage technical and senior stakeholders; familiarity with applicable asset management, quality, information security, business continuity, safety, environmental and ISO management systems is advantageous.
