What we need:

 

Reporting to the Head of DC & Engineering, India, this role will be required to manage Data Center Product & Engineering Development. This role will be based at our project site in Kalwa, Thane.

 

Key responsibilities:

 

  • Working with Global Product Standardization Team for development and implementation of the reference design guidelines in India.
  • Providing direct feedback to consultants on design development and design delivery issues which local delivery team is encountering to improve the product solutions.
  • Support platform team in preparing Standard Templates, Preparing reference design SLD and technical specifications.
  • Supporting the platform team in selection of the long lead equipment by standardization of our requirement enabling a global purchase support for bulk purchases.
  • Working with all cross functional team for Design, Procurement & Implementation of modular designs like, DFMA pipe works, Cable trays, Modular SKID power and cooling system, Containerized Power Modules, Skid mounted chillers and pumps or any other off-site integrated design soultions.
  • Working with BOM Design team for implementation of global reference design guidelines.
  • Data Center Infrastructure Design: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and architect data center solutions that align with the organization's requirements, including capacity planning, redundancy, power, cooling, and space utilization.
  • Project Management Support: Lead or assist in managing data center design projects from conception through execution, ensuring that they are completed on time and within budget.
  • Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks and vulnerabilities in data center designs and implement solutions to mitigate them.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure that data center designs and installations meet industry standards for reliability, security, and performance.
  • Vendor Management: Work with external vendors and suppliers to source the necessary equipment and components for data center projects and negotiate contracts when necessary.
  • Consultant Management: Manage engineering consultants effectively by communicating business needs and closely following up and day-to-day basis to make sure the consultant delivery on-time and there is enough pressure applied to get our deliveries on-time.
  • Coordination with Internal & External Stakeholders: Make sure that all the internal and external stakeholder are well communicated & management’s directions are passed on to the Internal & External Stakeholders.
  • Actively champion and implement policies and procedures for occupational health & safety in the workplace, information security management, environmental management systems; incident management; and comply with all legal regulatory requirements of the organization.

 

The successful candidate:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree of Mechanical or Electrical Engineer.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in DC industry and overall minimum10 years of working experience.
  • ATD certification is added advantage.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Familiarity with project management principles.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to on-time delivery.
