IT System Engineer (2nd shift)

What we need:

Reporting to the Head of IT Operations, and this role will be responsible for the design, deployment, administration, and optimization of our enterprise IT systems environment. You will work across a broad technology stack including Microsoft Windows, Linux, virtualization platforms, storage systems, and networking infrastructure to ensure high availability, performance, and security across the organization.  This will be our 2nd shift position covering 3pm to 11:30pm local time Mon – Fri.  This role will be based in India or Indonesia.

Key responsibilities:

• Design, deploy, and maintain enterprise-grade Windows Server and Linux environments across physical and virtual infrastructure
• Administer and support virtualization platforms including VMware vSphere/ESXi and/or Microsoft Hyper-V
• Manage storage systems including SAN, NAS, and object storage solutions; handle provisioning, performance tuning, and capacity planning
• Plan, configure, and support network infrastructure including switches, routers, firewalls, VLANs, VPNs, and SD-WAN
• Monitor system health, performance, and availability using enterprise monitoring tools; proactively identify and resolve issues
• Implement and maintain backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions
• Automate repetitive tasks and streamline operations using scripting (PowerShell, Bash, Python)
• Collaborate with security teams to enforce hardening standards, patch management, and compliance policies
• Support cloud integration and hybrid environments (Azure or AWS)
• Maintain thorough documentation of systems, configurations, procedures, and runbooks
• Participate in on-call rotation and provide Tier 1/2 escalation support

The successful candidate:

• 5+ years of experience in an IT Systems Engineer or Infrastructure Engineer role
• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Windows Server (2016/2019/2022) including AD DS, DNS, DHCP, GPO, and IIS
• Solid Linux administration skills (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu) including shell scripting, package management, and system tuning
• Proficiency with VMware vSphere/ESXi and/or Microsoft Hyper-V including clustering, vMotion, and HA/DRS configuration
• Experience with SAN/NAS storage platforms (e.g., Dell EMC, NetApp, Pure Storage, HPE) including LUN management, replication, and snapshots
• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals — TCP/IP, BGP/OSPF routing, VLANs, firewalls, load balancers, and VPN technologies
• Experience with backup and DR solutions (e.g., Veeam, Commvault, Zerto)
• Scripting proficiency in PowerShell and/or Bash
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills across the full infrastructure stack
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work across technical and non-technical teams
