What we need:

Reporting to the Regional IT Leadership, the IT Infrastructure and Operation Manager (Japan) will be responsible for managing and operating IT infrastructure systems across Japan, ensuring reliability, security, and alignment with global technology strategy. This role requires strong hands-on technical experience, vendor management capabilities, and the ability to support a fast-growing global enterprise.

This role will be based in Japan.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Work in a fast-growing Global Enterprise and adapt to fast changing environment
  • Lead end-to-end management of data center environments, including server provisioning and capacity planning
  • Act as the primary point of contact and trusted advisor for all IT-related matters, ranging from day-to-day user issues to complex infrastructure challenges.
  • Manage and mentor a small team in Japan for IT Operations
  • Maintain a highly hands-on approach to infrastructure and operations, actively engaging in technical execution rather than operating as a purely managerial role
  • Demonstrate strong understanding of local Japanese business practices, regulatory expectations, and workplace culture
  • Support cloud adoption with the cloud operation and delivery team aligning to the Technology Strategy
  • Coordinate with vendor to deliver infrastructure systems design, architecture, engineering and implementation
  • Deploy and support IT solutions, including desktop, servers, applications and network, and ensuring its correct operations
  • Ensure the managed IT infrastructure are fulfiling compliance (ISMS) and corporate governance frameworks
  • Create requirements document for the regional team
  • Setup and deploy the company-wide standard
  • Assist in Vendor, Contract and License Management

 

Actively champion and implement the organization’s policies on health & safety, environment, energy, quality, information security, and business continuity, ensuring adherence to incident reporting, legal, and regulatory requirements. 

 

Requirements:

  • 10 years+ hands-on experiences in infrastructure solution architecture, engineering and operation, preferred practical experience in DataCentre industry
  • Strong proficient and experiences on architecting and maintaining various Microsoft Enterprise solution such as Microsoft 365, Azure AD, Intune management. Solid experience on MS Intune, Teams and Azure Active Directory management will be definitely in advantage
  • Strong experience in Project Management and working with people across functions
  • Sound knowledge in endpoint security solution such as EDR, patch management, asset management tool
  • Sound knowledge on LAN/WAN technologies, IP network routing and firewalls
  • Hands-on experience with Windows/Linux/Mac OS environments
  • Strong experience on server virtualization administration such as VMware or Proxmox
  • Proven and demonstrate vendor management experience
  • Technical certification with ITIL, PMP, MSITP, CCNA is strongly preferred
  • BSc in Computer Engineering/Science or relevant field
  • Ability to perform remote troubleshooting and provide clear instructions
  • Proactive and willing to learn
  • Customer-oriented attitude
  • Fluent communication in English and near-native level (Preferrable N2,N1) Japanese is mandatory
