What we need:
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), this role will is pivotal in shaping and executing our brand, communications, and stakeholder engagement strategy across Southeast Asia, India, China, Japan, and Korea. The successful candidate will drive hyperscale and country-level retail marketing strategies, oversee internal and external communications, and lead media, press, government, regulatory, and corporate affairs initiatives. This role will be based in Singapore.
Key responsibilities:
Marketing & Communications Strategy
- Define and lead the development of a comprehensive marketing and communications strategy, aligned with the company’s business priorities, go-to-market (GTM) strategy, and long-term balanced growth goals across hyperscale and retail segments.
- Drive the creation and evolution of a unified message house anchored around the company’s key strategic pillars—technology leadership, customer experience, sustainability, global / local and market innovation.
- Collaborate with GTM, product, and regional sales teams to translate the commercial strategy into actionable marketing plans and content campaigns that generate demand, drive differentiation, and support account-based marketing (ABM) initiatives.
- Lead brand governance, digital presence, creative direction content development, and campaign execution across all markets and platforms, ensuring consistency, impact, and global scalability.
Corporate Affairs & Stakeholder Engagement
- Assist country management teams to build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders including government agencies, regulatory authorities, industry associations, and trade organizations
- Advise the CEO and SLT on political and policy developments with potential commercial, regulatory or reputational impact.
- Anticipate and manage reputational risks by developing and maintaining robust issues management and crisis response protocols.
- Shape (and support SLT / CMs in shaping) the company’s presence and influence in industry forums, public policy dialogues, and sustainability coalitions, reinforcing our role as a digital infrastructure leader in the region.
Media & External Communications
- Develop and implement corporate communications including media engagement, brand narrative, executive visibility, and public positioning to support Digital Edge’s reputation and licence to operate in DC space
- Oversee external communications strategy, including media relations, earned and owned content, executive visibility, and thought leadership programs.
- Develop and integrated thought leadership that elevates standing on critical issues such as trust in data centres, energy and ESG
- Partner with PR agencies (as required) to proactively secure positive media coverage across priority markets and maintain consistent storytelling in alignment with company strategy.
- Act as spokesperson (where appropriate) and prepare senior leaders for media and public engagement with consistency, authority, and integrity
- Monitor media sentiment and competitive narratives, providing executive leadership with timely insights and recommendations for response or positioning.
Internal Communications & Culture Building
- Foster a two-way communications environment that promotes transparency, inclusion and employee engagement across all levels of the business.
- Develop and execute internal communications plans that reinforce company strategy, drive employee engagement, and foster a high-performance, values-driven culture.
- Partner with HR and executive leadership to support change management, leadership messaging, and cross-regional employee engagement initiatives—particularly during times of transformation, growth, or crisis.
- Act as a key custodian of the employer brand and internal narrative, ensuring alignment between external reputation and internal employee experience.
Cross-Functional Leadership & Integration
- Act as a central integrator across the GTM, Product, HR, CEO, Corporate Development, and Investor Relations functions to ensure communication strategies support enterprise-wide goals and priorities.
- Lead the function with a data-driven and impact-oriented mindset, defining KPIs for brand health, campaign ROI, media reach, and stakeholder engagement.
- Manage and mentor a high-performing team of marketing and communications professionals, fostering a collaborative and agile environment that scales with the business.
- Actively champion and comply with policies and procedures related to workplace health & safety, information security, environmental, quality, and energy management systems, incident management, and applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
The successful candidate:
- Minimum 10 years of experience in marketing communications, corporate affairs, or public relations, preferably within data centres, technology, real estate, or adjacent industries.
- Proven track record of operating across Southeast Asia, India, China, Japan, and Korea.
- Strong understanding of regional market dynamics, regulatory environments, and cultural nuances.
- Exceptional communication skills in English (mandatory); proficiency in one other relevant regional language is a strong advantage.
- Experience in managing cross-functional teams and external agencies.
- Strategic thinker with hands-on execution capability and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to navigate complex regulatory landscapes and influence policy outcomes.
- Strong leadership presence and ability to represent the company externally.
