What we need:

 

Reporting to the Finance Director, Japan, this role will partner closely with the Japan leadership team (Finance Director, COO, Operations, Construction, etc) at Digital Edge Japan, focusing on analysing financial data with related operational metrics, to provide insights and guidance to drive business and strategic and operational decision making. This role will be based in Tokyo.

 

Key responsibilities:

 

  • Lead overall planning, reporting and financial analysis process for Japan.
  • Act as a strategic partner to Japan leadership team
  • Perform detailed analysis on financial and operational trends in the business to provide insight for decision making support
  • Conduct presentations related to findings and provides recommendations to relevant internal stakeholders
  • Own and drive the design, development and maintenance of monthly, quarterly and annual management reporting
  • Lead efforts to capture planning assumptions and leverage them to produce financial projections for capital expenditure and operational expenses
  • Identify cost management opportunities (processes or expenses) for ensuring improved profitability and sustainable returns for the business
  • Support pricing, customer profitability, and margin analysis for commercial decision-making.
  • Contribute to system enhancements and testing in financial reporting and planning platforms (i.e. OneStream, Power BI, NetSuite)
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across local businesses and group functional leaders across Engineering, Construction, Operational and IT
  • Challenge assumptions and influence decision-making
  • Work on strategic and M&A projects and support Joint Venture entities
  • Actively champion and comply with policies and procedures related to workplace health & safety, information security, environmental, quality, and energy management systems, incident management, and applicable legal and regulatory requirements.

 

The successful candidate will have:

 

  • Bachelors degree or above in Finance or relevant disciplines
  • CPA or equivalent qualified preferred
  • 8+ years of FP&A / Finance business partnering experience preferably in a multi-country/ regional environment
  • Experience in telecommunications/digital infrastructure sectors is beneficial
  • Advanced excel, financial modeling skills and experience with ERP systems
  • Finance Process integration or establishment experience is plus
  • A team player willing to be hands-on in a dynamic and fast paced environment
  • Strong project management, presentation, communication and analytical skills
  • Fluent Japanese and business level English to ensure close communication with HQ
