What we need:

 

Reporting to the Facility Manager in Japan, this role will develop, implement and support Data center facility operations processes and procedures to deliver operational consistency. This role will be based in Tokyo, Japan.

 

 

Key responsibilities:

 

  • Manage operational maintenance work and renewal construction work with vendors.
  • Manage Fit-Out work for customer with vendors.
  • Planning and management of CAPEX and OPEX required for facility operation of Data Center.
  • Data Center Capacity Management (Space and Power) – Optimize the allocation of data center space and power resources.
  • Incident management – Identify failures and manage prompt recovery responses.
  • Manage routine maintenance and emergency services, scheduling on a variety of critical systems such as: Electrical facility, Mechanical facility, security system and fire system, etc.
  • Manage PUE improvement, operation cost, vendor routine maintenance cost or any other items related to data center with maintenance and operation vendor etc.
  • Management Reports – Consolidate the DC Operations performance reports and other performance reports as required by Management.
  • Certification Program – knowledge or experience of Certification programs e.g. ISO 27001, 14001, 45001,50001 with the consultant & implement the programs through the DC Operations.
  • Manage meetings and inquiries with stakeholders regarding data center operations.
  • Create SOP, MOP, EOP and necessary documents related to data center facility operation and management.
  • Assist in the design phase, construction phase and commissioning phase for new data centers.
  • Manage all utilities contract for data center building and multiple data centers to align with comprehensive operation and management.
  • Assist legal document submission like energy law and electricity business act, global warming countermeasure in Tokyo metropolitan code.
  • Vendor Diversity Management – develop and implement dual qualified vendors approach for key data center works / products e.g. racks, cabling works to ensure shorter delivery lead time & price competitiveness.
  • Actively champion and implement policies and procedures for occupational health & safety in the workplace, information security management, environmental management systems; incident management; and comply with all legal regulatory requirements of the organization.

 

 

The successful candidate:

 

  • 5+ years of experience in facility management or construction management of data center facilities.
  • English language is business level and Japanese language is native level.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to successfully interact with both internal and venders.
  • Electrical, Fire, Mechanical engineer certification, CDCP or CDFOM is preferable.
  • Diploma / bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering is preferable.
