What we need:
Reporting to the Vice President, Infrastructure Operations and dotted to the BKK Operations Director, the Facility Director is the accountable owner of infrastructure reliability, plant integrity, maintenance strategy and energy performance for BKK1.
This role will lead technical engagement through commissioning, assume authority over MEP system acceptance prior to RFS, and ensure long-term reliability, safety and efficiency of all critical infrastructure.
Key responsibilities:
Commissioning & Technical Acceptance
- Lead technical engagement throughout testing & commissioning (T&C), integrated systems testing (IST) and system validation.
- Own final technical sign-off of critical MEP systems prior to RFS.
- Ensure mechanical and electrical systems perform in accordance with design intent and resiliency standards.
Plant Integrity & Reliability
- Own maintenance philosophy, reliability standards and asset integrity strategy for all critical systems including:
- Electrical distribution (switchgear, transformers, UPS, STS, DRUPS, batteries, generators, PDUs)
- Mechanical cooling plant and thermal systems
- Fire protection systems
- Building Management Systems (BMS/EPMS)
- Best PUE (Power Usage Effectiveness)
- Approve high-risk MOPs and oversee risk assessments for infrastructure activities.
- Provide third-level emergency technical support during critical events.
Maintenance & Lifecycle Strategy
- Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs aligned with DE global standards.
- Establish appropriate operational documentation (e.g. SOP, MOP, EOP) and prepare management reports
- Establish 5-year asset lifecycle and maintenance CapEx/OpEx forecasting strategies.
- Manage vendor performance, contract compliance and service quality.
- Drive energy optimization programs to achieve lowest feasible PUE while maintaining resiliency.
Change Management & Governance
- Accountable for technical approval of infrastructure changes in alignment with service impact assessment by Operations Director.
- Ensure strict compliance with DE maintenance policies and regulatory standards.
- Lead and support certification initiatives including ISO 27001, 14001, 45001, PCI DSS and related frameworks.
- Goven Change Management Control
Team Leadership & Development
- Build and mentor a high-performing Facilities Engineering team.
- Establish technical competency standards and structured training programs.
- Foster a safety-first and reliability-driven culture.
- Support Sales, Sales Engineering & Product Management team for key potential customer / Hyperscale deals.
Actively champion and implement the organization’s policies on health & safety, environment, energy, quality, information security, and business continuity, ensuring adherence to incident reporting, legal, and regulatory requirements.
The successful candidate:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
- 10+ years of experience in data center or mission-critical facility management.
- Strong hands-on expertise in critical MEP systems and commissioning processes.
- Proven experience in plant reliability, lifecycle planning and energy optimization.
- Data center or facility-related certifications (e.g., CDCP, CDCS, CDFOM or equivalent) preferred.
- Strong English communication skills.
- Experience in hyperscale or digital infrastructure environments highly desirable.
- Fluency in English and Thai.
