What we need:

 

Reporting to the Facility Manager, this role is accountable the operations, maintenance, planning and documentation of DC operations procedures and associated mission critical infrastructures toward the most efficient and maximum utilization of facilities, equipment, and operational resources. As a key member of the Operations Team, Facility Engineer will support maintaining the critical facilities and managing all vendor activities for the facility availability.

The Facility Engineer ensures effective oversight of the uptime of the facilities, lowest possible PUE, all contractor activities and maintains fiscal responsibility of projects and required maintenance practices. This role will be based in Seoul, South Korea.

 

Key responsibilities:

 

  • Maintain the DC Critical Electrical, Cooling, Fire Protection & Building Management System (BMS) infrastructure per manufacturers recommendation and corporate specifications.
  • Supervise operational maintenance work and renewal construction work with vendors.
  • Manage routine maintenance and emergency services, scheduling on a variety of critical systems such as: electrical facility, mechanical facility, security system and fire system etc.
  • Establish documentation of SOP, MOP, EOP and required documents related to the DEs DC facility operation and management.
  • On-call emergency response & support as necessary to maintain the highest level of integrity and availability of building systems, electrical infrastructure efficiency & the lowest possible PUE.
  • Set up MEP maintenance and monitoring policy.
  • Interface with building management systems and other automated tools and applications to ensure operational efficiencies and energy improvement.
  • Maintain appropriate vendor relationships to do the necessary building repair and maintenance.
  • Liaise with a global team on global initiatives as well as process and procedures, implement those initiatives locally in Korea.
  • Work directly with the customer and/or support staff to identify and troubleshoot as necessary to isolate the root cause of problems.
  • Actively champion and implement policies and procedures for occupational health & safety in the workplace, information security management, environmental management systems; incident management; and comply with all legal regulatory requirements of the organization.

 

The successful candidate:

 

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Fire Protection System or relevant discipline.
  • More than 5 years of work experience in supporting a 24x7 data centre’s facility management.
  • Ability to communicate in English – Speak and Write
  • Extensive operational knowledge of fire system (e.g. switchgear, transformers, automatic transfer switch, UPS, STS, battery management systems, generators, and PDUs to the branch level), cooling system, fire protection & Building Management system.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to successfully interact with both internal and external customers.
  • Strong project management, trouble-shooting and organizational skills.
  • A team player willing to be hands-on in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Well organized, think rationally in resolving issues or put up recommending.
  • Experience in telecommunications / digital infrastructure sectors, especially on the process side, is beneficial.
  • Preferred Electrical, Fire or Mechanical engineer certification.
