What we need:
The Data Center Electrical Engineering Operation is responsible for ensuring that all electrical equipment within the data center is operating within contract parameters within third party Colocation facilities. Often this will include risk management and mitigation, corrective and preventative maintenance of critical infrastructure, vendor management and metric reporting.
This role reports to the Facility Manager and will be based in Jakarta, Indonesia.
Key responsibilities:
- Power system design and planning
- Electrical installation and commissioning
- Preventive maintenance of electrical systems
- Emergency power systems (UPS, generators)
- Compliance with electrical safety standards
- Energy efficiency and optimization
- Incident response (electrical faults)
- Coordination with vendors
- Reporting and documentation
- Load balancing and power distribution monitoring
- Redundancy system testing (N+1, 2N, etc.)
- Electrical risk assessments and audits
- Integration with BMS
- Support during data centre expansion projects
- Monitoring power usage effectiveness (PUE)
- Battery health monitoring and replacement planning
- Shutdown/startup procedures for electrical systems
The successful candidate:
Educational Background:
- Must hold minimum of bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Mechanical Engineering or any related fields.
Technical Skills:
- Power System Design & Planning – Expertise in designing and planning electrical power systems for reliable and efficient operation.
- Electrical Installation & Commissioning – Skilled in installing and commissioning electrical infrastructure in compliance with standards.
- Preventive Maintenance – Proficient in implementing preventive maintenance programs for electrical systems to minimize downtime.
- Emergency Power Systems – Hands-on experience with UPS, generators, and other backup systems to ensure business continuity.
- Electrical Safety Compliance – Strong knowledge of regulatory standards and best practices for electrical safety.
- Energy Efficiency & Optimization – Ability to analyze and optimize energy usage for cost savings and sustainability.
- Incident Response – Capable of troubleshooting and resolving electrical faults promptly to restore operations.
- Vendor Coordination – Experienced in managing vendor relationships for procurement, installation, and service support.
- Reporting & Documentation – Skilled in preparing technical reports, maintenance logs, and compliance documentation.
- Load Balancing & Power Distribution Monitoring – Expertise in monitoring and managing power loads for optimal performance.
- Redundancy System Testing – Familiar with N+1, 2N, and other redundancy configurations for critical systems.
- Electrical Risk Assessments & Audits – Competent in conducting risk assessments and audits to ensure system reliability.
- Integration with BMS – Knowledgeable in integrating electrical systems with Building Management Systems for centralized control.
- Data Centre Expansion Support – Experienced in supporting electrical infrastructure during data centre growth projects.
- Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) Monitoring – Ability to track and improve PUE for data centre efficiency.
- Battery Health Monitoring & Replacement Planning – Skilled in monitoring battery performance and planning replacements.
- Shutdown/Startup Procedures – Proficient in executing safe shutdown and startup protocols for electrical systems.

Experience:
- 4+ years of relevant work experience in maintaining electrical, mechanical, HVAC, fire systems experience in a data center or critical space facility
- Understanding of the electrical and mechanical systems used in a data center environment, including but not limited to Chiller, Coil wall/CRAH/CRAC units, CPOS, Fire protection, Transformers, Generators, Switchgear, UPS systems, ATS/STS units, PDUs.
