What we need:

 

This role serves as the building-level EHS Advisor with responsibility for both EHS and fire safety oversight and compliance for operational data center facilities. The EHS Advisor will typically be responsible for 1–2 operational buildings, depending on campus size and complexity, ensuring strong day-to-day EHS governance, safe management of operational activities, and compliance with applicable operational fire and safety regulations. The role combines environmental, health & safety responsibilities with practical fire safety oversight, focusing on diligence, verification, and emergency preparedness.

 

This role is based on-site at data centers in Jakarta.

 

Key responsibilities:

 

Operational EHS Responsibilities  

  • Provide building-level EHS oversight across 1–2 operational data center buildings, ensuring safe day-to-day operations.
  • Serve as the building-level contact point for customer EHS and fire safety audits and engagements.
  • Monitor and enforce compliance with statutory EHS and fire safety regulations, as well as corporate standards.
  • Verify safe execution of maintenance, vendor activities, and minor works within live, mission-critical environments.
  • Conduct risk assessments and ensure safe systems of work and permit-to-work controls are effectively implemented.
  • Oversee readiness and compliance of firefighting equipment and fire protection systems, including inspections and maintenance follow-ups.
  • Verify implementation of fire safety procedures, emergency response plans, and evacuation arrangements at building level.
  • Conduct EHS and fire safety inspections, audits, and drills to identify gaps and drive corrective actions.
  • Support incident reporting and investigations, including root cause analysis and closure of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Maintain emergency preparedness and support response coordination during incidents and drills.
  • Work closely with Facilities Management (FM), contractors, and vendors to ensure EHS and fire safety requirements are effectively implemented.
  • Actively champion and implement the organization’s policies on health & safety, environment, energy, quality, information security, and business continuity, ensuring adherence to incident reporting and regulatory requirements.

 

The successful candidate:

  • Degree or diploma in Environmental, Health & Safety or related discipline.
  • Additional training or certification in Fire Safety (e.g., short courses or professional certification) is an advantage.
  • 3–7 years of EHS experience, including exposure to operational or mission-critical facilities (data centers, industrial plants, energy, or similar environments).
  • Working knowledge of fire safety systems and statutory compliance requirements, with the ability to verify compliance and respond appropriately during emergencies.
  • Experience in operational environments involving live or energized systems is preferred.
  • Physically able to conduct regular building inspections, including stairs and equipment access.
  • Fluent in English and proficiency in local language (Bahasa Indonesia) is preferred.
