What we need:
Reporting To: Senior Director, Maintenance & PUE
Based in: Singapore
The Director – Maintenance Cost Management is the regional authority for all maintenance-related CapEx and OpEx evaluation and governance, ensuring that every investment decision is risk-informed, consistent, and financially sound.
This role acts as the primary decision filter and advisor to the VP Infrastructure Operations for all cost-related approvals.
Key responsibilities:
1. CapEx & OpEx Review and Governance
- Review, evaluate, and endorse all maintenance CapEx and OpEx submissions across countries
- Establish and enforce standard decision frameworks:
- lifecycle cost analysis
- risk vs cost trade-offs
- repair vs replacement decisions
2. Maintenance Financial Planning
- Develop and manage regional maintenance cost outlook (CapEx & OpEx)
- Identify cost optimisation opportunities without compromising reliability
- Ensure predictability and transparency in maintenance spend
3. Risk-Based Investment Decision
- Integrate asset condition, incident trends, and operational risk into cost decisions
- Prevent:
- under-investment → failures
- over-investment → inefficiency
4. Vendor & Contract Cost Control
- Review Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) contracts, variation orders, and major repair works
- Challenge cost structures, scope inflation, and vendor assumptions
- Support standardisation of commercial terms and SLAs
5. Executive & Audit Support
- Provide clear justification for approval or rejection of spend
- Support audits, board reviews, and investor queries on maintenance cost
- Act as key advisor to VP on financial risk exposure
Actively champion and implement the organization’s policies on health & safety, environment, energy, quality, information security, and business continuity, ensuring adherence to incident reporting, legal, and regulatory requirements.
The successful candidate:
Required:
- 12 years in data center / critical infrastructure / industrial operations
- Strong experience in:
- maintenance strategy
- lifecycle asset management
- CapEx/OpEx governance
- Able to translate engineering decisions into financial impact
- Strong stakeholder influence at Director / VP level
