What we need:
Reporting to the Head of Digital HR, this role will be an expert in HR Operations and Payroll, with an exceptional eye for detail, process and a superuser on Excel. You will be overseeing end-to-end multi-country payroll operations working closely with local HRBPs to ensure no step is missed, and no payroll is processed without a second pair of eyes. Acting as a key partner to internal stakeholders and external payroll vendors, this role ensures payroll accuracy, statutory compliance, and operational efficiency.
This position plays a critical role in strengthening payroll governance and supporting the organization’s broader ambition to build disciplined, data-driven people operations. You will work closely with HR Business Partners (HRBPs), Finance, and operational teams across the region.
Key responsibilities:
Payroll Management
- Ownership of the Head Office payrolls, working closely with internal stakeholders and our external vendor, ensuring accuracy and timely processing. You will work closely with Digital HR colleagues and Finance who will act as second pairs of eyes
- Work closely with the HRBP for South East Asia to act as second pair of eyes for local country payrolls ensuring no single point of failure for these locations
- Support other locations as they migrate to our single master vendor, ensuring smooth transitioning of vendors, consistency and standardization while maintaining local compliance.
- Keeping abreast of local processes and act as backup in the case of absence or sickness
- Investigate payroll discrepancies and ensure timely resolution of issues
- Prepare and maintain payroll documentation to support audits, inspections, and internal reviews
- Act as the primary liaison with external payroll vendors, ensuring service quality, contractual compliance, and timely delivery
- Review vendor deliverables, monitor performance against SLAs, and escalate issues where required
- Proactively identify opportunities for payroll process improvements and efficiency gains
- Support regional payroll harmonization initiatives and continuous improvement projects
Employee Life Cycle & HR Operations Support
- Support employee life cycle activities including onboarding, offboarding, and employee data administration
- Assist with government-related surveys and statutory reporting where required
Compensation and Benefits Administration
- Support with salary benchmarking queries utilizing external resources, leveraging internal data points and liaising with the TA team for market insights
- Work closely with CHRO to review feasibility of more detailed salary benchmarking data review
- Support HQ benefits renewal processes as required working with Digital HR team, CHRO and Finance
- Collate compensation and benefits data from country HRBPs as required and provide analysis as requested for both decision making, budgeting and audit purposes
- Management of annual and board reports, bonus and salary review spreadsheets, working closely with CHRO to provide data sets, reports, pivots and analysis via excel
Actively champion and implement the organization’s policies on health & safety, environment, energy, quality, information security, and business continuity, ensuring adherence to incident reporting, legal, and regulatory requirements.
The successful candidate:
- 5-8 years of hands-on payroll experience; exposure to Asia payroll (e.g. Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand) is an advantage
- Working knowledge of payroll practices and labour laws across Asia
- Highly meticulous, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Experience with SAP SuccessFactors is essential
- Advanced Excel capability, including sophisticated formulas, linked spreadsheets, advanced lookups, pivot tables, and dynamic reporting.
