What we need:
Reporting to the Customer Project Manager, this role will be responsible for leading end‑to‑end project delivery/implementation for hyperscale customers across India. This role manages data center projects— including BTS builds, new colocation deployments, data hall expansions —ensuring delivery within agreed scope, quality, timelines, and customer expectations.
The Customer Project Engineer works closely with customers, internal Construction and delivery, operations, Account Managers, to drive smooth delivery and implementation, coordinate across all stakeholders, proactively resolve issues, and maintain strong customer satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
This role will be based on site in Airoli, Mumbai.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop comprehensive project plans detailing scope, milestones, timelines, release schedules, dependencies, and deliverables.
- Serve as the primary customer interface during the delivery/implementation phase, consolidating internal (Construction and Operations Team) inputs and providing unified progress updates, solutions and responses to the Customer.
- Lead execution of hyperscale customer projects, including BTS builds, colocation deployments, data hall migrations, and capacity expansion initiatives.
- Manage the Change Control Process for customer contracts in alignment with internal teams and governance protocols.
- Coordinate cross‑functional teams (Sales, Construction, Engineering, Operations, Compliance, HSE, Security) to ensure seamless project execution based on Customer Contract requirements.
- Conduct and lead customer meetings, technical reviews, readiness checks, and delivery checkpoints.
- Maintain structured project documentation including minutes, action logs, dashboards, risk registers, and delivery trackers.
- Ensure formal and complete handover to customers and internal operational teams upon project completion.
- Proactively resolve customer issues, technical challenges, and delivery blockers to safeguard project timelines.
- Provide timely project status updates to leadership and Account Managers, highlighting progress, risks, dependencies, and mitigation actions.
- Build and maintain strong professional relationships with hyperscale customers.
- Support additional projects or customer portfolios as assigned by the line manager.
- Actively champion and implement the organization’s policies on health & safety, environment, energy, quality, information security, and business continuity, ensuring adherence to incident reporting, legal, and regulatory requirements.
The successful candidate:
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management , Information Technology, or a related technical discipline.
Professional Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience managing colocation, data center infrastructure, cloud, or hyperscale implementation projects.
- Strong knowledge of data center operations and project delivery across construction phases, commissioning processes, and operations.
- Experience with Data Center New Builds and Built‑to‑Suit (BTS) projects is a strong advantage.
