What we need:
Reporting to the CCO and working closely with the CEO, the Country Manager serves as the company’s senior representative in the Philippines, responsible for driving business growth, operational excellence, and market leadership. This role leads in-country teams to implement the company’s Go-to-Market (GTM) strategy, execute development initiatives, ensure seamless local operations while aligning with global functional leaders (Operations, Finance, HR, Legal, etc.). This role demands both strategic vision and hands-on leadership to balance global objectives with local market realities. This role will be based in the Philippines.
Key responsibilities:
Strategic and Country Leadership
- Lead on country business plan incorporating GTM and corporate development strategy
- Lead local team and work with global functional teams, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure a high standard of customer service and operational support.
- Act as the bridge between local operations and global functions, raising and resolving issues proactively with relevant stakeholders.
- Monitor industry trends and competitor activities to inform strategic decisions and maintain market competitiveness.
Lead on GTM Execution
- Execute the GTM strategy and local business plan in alignment with the CCO’s directives and the broader corporate vision, comprising
- Co-location strategy
- Interconnect strategy
- Hyperscale strategy
- Develop and nurture strong relationships with key customers, potential partners and key stakeholders, identifying new business opportunities to drive revenue growth.
- Hire, lead and train in-country sales team to cover domestic customers, as well as support locally the platform sales initiative (hyperscale, strategic and regional channel accounts)
Operational Excellence & Financial Accountability
- Oversee day-to-day operations to ensure operational efficiency, high customer satisfaction, and adherence to local and global standards.
- Manage the country’s P&L with a focus on driving sales, revenue, and profitability, and performance against budget
- Drive efficiency in the country’s cashflows across activities including maintenance and growth capex, accounts receivable
- Oversight of the country’s real estate portfolio including efficiency in lease management
Compliance, Risk Management & Long-Term Development
- Ensure full compliance with all local legal, regulatory, and corporate governance requirements.
- Champion health, safety, and environmental standards in line with company policies.
- Support long-term growth initiatives in partnership with corporate development team, contributing to the company’s expansion roadmap and sustainable market presence.
- Actively champion and comply with policies and procedures related to workplace health & safety, information security, environmental, quality, and energy management systems, incident management, and applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
The successful candidate:
- Master/Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Finance.
- Proven experience in a leadership role within the Data Center/ Telecommunications, network, real estate industries.
- Strong strategic thinking and operational management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to foster a collaborative team environment.
- Relevant educational background (e.g., Business Administration, Management).
- Strong local relationships within data center sector and eco-system partners.
- Prior experience in fast growing and matrix organizations with ability to navigate a highly matrixed organization.
- Result-oriented with strong learning ability, adaptability and high levels of resilience.
- Fluency in English and a local language.
