Reporting to the Head of Finance, the candidate will play a key role in project cost management for data centre development of the Digital Edge DC (India) Pvt Ltd (‘DEI’). This role will be based at Digital Edge DC (India) – Site office located at Survey No. 238/2, Bhola Nagar, Kalwa, Navi Mumbai, Thane, Maharashtra, 400708.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring alignment with organizational financial goals and objectives.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates and forecasts for data center projects, including construction, equipment, and operational expenses.
- Monitor and control project costs for each data center projects vis a vis budgets, including identifying variances and implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Review and approve project invoices, change orders, and payment applications.
- Maintain comprehensive cost records and documentation for each data center projects.
- Provide regular financial reports and updates to stakeholders, highlighting key cost metrics and trends.
- Prepare/collate relevant project information for submission to lenders on a timely basis.
- Assist and interact with lender’s agencies on periodic project reviews etc.
- Interface, interact and work collaboratively with DEI Internal Stakeholders and other Project Team members.
- Provide commercial input to a Risk Register, including formulating and reviewing strategies for minimizing the same.
- Produce information as required for the assessment of change requests and variations, complying with the agreed change management process at all-times.
- Assist in the settlement of contractual disputes and proactively track claims from the contractor or any party.
- Evaluate claims, make recommendations and assist with negotiations. Keep all relevant parties informed of claims.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements related to cost management.
- Participate in contract negotiations and vendor management to achieve cost-effective solutions.
- Support the development and implementation of cost management best practices and tools within the organization
- Highlighting Critical Issues to Head Construction and CFO
- Actively champion and comply with policies and procedures related to workplace health & safety, information security, environmental, quality, and energy management systems, incident management, and applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
The successful candidate:
- Skill set: Knowledge of accounting package such as Odoo or Oracle, project management tools such as MS Projects/ Gantt Charts, etc.
- Experience: Site cost/commercial management for minimum 8 years
- Specific people skills: Team player
- Education level: B.Com / M.com / Finance degree
