About the role:
Reporting to the Senior Director, Construction Project Platform, this role will lead and manage the civil works component related to a largescale Data Center project, involving methodical planning, and staging of execution works and multifaceted management of risk, safety, quality, contract administration and detailed progress reporting. This role will be project based at Project Site, Johor, Malaysia
Key responsibilities:
Construction
- Program: phasing/staging, construction activity sequencing, contractor/subcontractor interface and coordination, detailed programming of all construction activities from commencement to completion, including daily and weekly planning.
- Quality: administering the quality management system and ensuring procedural systems are transcending and adhered to throughout ground level operations to enable uniformity of construction methodology and achievement of leading industry standards on building quality. Making sure that all the Method statements and procedures are followed.
- Safety: Administering and ensuring adherence to the safety management system. Active participation and management in audits, safety meetings, campaigns, and training workshops.
- Trade Workfront Management: On-site operational organization of contractors and subcontractors work front, resource deployment, equipment and machinery provision, short term planning, on and off-site logistics coordination.
- Maintain accurate documentation, reporting site progress and addressing on site challenges.
- Coordinating MEP contractors for civil works.
- Lead coordination with consultants, authorities, utility providers and client representatives.
Design Coordination and Interface
- Make sure that all the RCC andfinishing works are executed as per the issued drawings.
Quality, Safety and Environment Management
- Injury and Incident Free: Develop and encourage an Incident and Injury Free climate on site and in the supply chain and ensure that all health and safety obligations, process and procedures are allocated to and delivered by the engaged contractors, subcontractors and suppliers in line with DEI EHS standards.
- Actively champion and implement policies and procedures for occupational health & safety in the workplace, information security management, environmental management systems; incident management; and comply with all legal regulatory requirements of the organization.
The successful candidate:
- Bachelor/Diploma of Engineer (Civil) with overall 12 years of Construction and engineering experience. Minimum of 3 years’ experience with largescale Data Center experience or complex Semiconductor Projects with MEP content.
- Knowledge in civil engineering or structural engineering preferable for Data Centers. The candidate must have experience and a performance track record leading the base-build delivery ‘structure’ for large scale or complex projects. Managing and overseeing from start to finish external underground infrastructure works, substructure (piling, footing and foundation works), superstructure (shuttering, reinforcement, post-tensioning, precast concrete, concrete place, steel structure, masonry such as blockwork, brickwork, coordination of services cast-ins, dry wall construction, DfMA installation etc.), finishes (internal walls, floors, ceiling, partitions, doors etc.,) and façade works to enclose the building.
- Ability to supervise and administer the onsite construction execution of all building works in terms of necessary resource deployment, plant and machinery, sequencing and staging of works to efficiently construct the building as per program timelines, safety and quality standards. Understanding and awareness of infrastructure and services being able to interpret and understand design, overseeing and manage the works competently.
