About the role:

 

Reporting to the Senior Director, Construction Project Platform, this role will be responsible for supervising and coordinating all civil and structural works throughout the project lifecycle ensuring quality, compliance with design specifications, structural requirements, and critical infrastructure standards. This role demands precision, adherence to safety standards, maintaining tight timelines, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to deliver a mission-critical facility. This role will be based in Johor, Malaysia.

 

Key responsibilities:

 

  • Site Supervision & Execution:
    • Oversee the civil and structural works including foundations, slabs, steel structures, and equipment support systems.
    • Ensure alignment with Digital Edge’s design specifications and project requirements.
    • Validate method statements, shop drawings and ITPs.
    • Support the testing and commissioning as well as integrated system tests process.
    • Ensure that planned construction activities are carried out promptly in accordance with the project’s program.
  • Quality Assurance & Quality Control:
    • Verify compliance with the relevant local building codes, international standards, and project specifications.
    • Witness and conduct inspections on civil and structural works ensuring structural integrity and tolerance levels etc are as per design intent.
  • Coordination & Liaison:
    • Work closely with the project team, especially the MEP team to coordinate the MEP work.
    • Liaise with design consultants and contractors to resolve technical issues promptly.
  • Documentation & Reporting:
    • Maintain accurate records of site activities, material certifications, and QA/QC documentation.
    • Prepare weekly quality reports, and follow up on a timely manner to close out NCRs etc.
    • Prepare progress reports and highlight risks impacting critical path activities.
  • Actively champion and implement the organization’s policies on health & safety, environment, energy, quality, information security, and business continuity, ensuring adherence to incident reporting, legal, and regulatory requirements.
  • Review temporary works proposals and construction methodologies for civil and structural activities.
  • Monitor settlement, structural movement and quality of critical structural elements.
  • Coordinate interface between C&S works and MEP installations to avoid rework and programme impacts.

 

The successful candidate:

 

  • Experience: 5-10 years in civil and structural engineering with site supervision (preferably with Data Centre or critical infrastructure projects).
  • Specific people skills: Good communicator, with site supervision experience, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Education level: Recognized Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
  • Systems and Tools: Knowledge of Autodesk Forma, AutoCAD, Revit, MS Project, and other relevant software.
