What we need:

Reporting to the Senior Category Manager and working closely with the Associate Principle of Supply Chain, you support the company’s global procurement strategy across all data center development, customer delivery, and operational projects. This role will be responsible for developing and implementing a scalable, future-ready procurement function that supports Digital Edge’s rapid growth and regional expansion.

 

You will develop and maintain supplier partnerships, ensure governance, drive continuous improvements throughout supply chain across the Asia Pacific region, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives on cost, quality, sustainability, and risk mitigation. This role will be based in India.

 

Key responsibilities:

 

  • Strategic Sourcing Support: Assist in sourcing activities by collecting supplier quotations, conducting basic market research, and preparing comparison analyses. Support senior team members in running sourcing events (RFPs/RFQs), including documentation preparation and supplier communication. Maintain supplier databases, track sourcing initiatives, and document cost‑saving or value‑improvement opportunities. Identify potential new suppliers under guidance and support preliminary capability checks.

 

  • Stakeholder Coordination: Support communication and coordination with internal stakeholders such as project managers, engineering teams, operations, and finance. Gather requirements, prepare updates, and ensure procurement activities align with project timelines and business needs.

 

  • Contracting & Category Support: Assist in the preparation, administration, and management of contracts and category documents for key infrastructure materials and services. Conduct market research, collect supplier quotations, and support category strategies developed by senior leadership.

 

  • Supplier Management & Negotiation Support: Maintain day‑to‑day communication with suppliers, track performance, and follow up on deliverables. Support senior team members in commercial negotiations by preparing data, cost comparisons, and performance summaries.

 

  • Long‑Lead Equipment & Materials Coordination: Monitor procurement and delivery schedules for long‑lead items. Track order status, update project teams, and escalate delays or risks. Assist in inventory coordination and documentation for critical spares.

 

  • Risk & Supply Chain Resilience Monitoring: Support risk identification by tracking supply disruptions, changes in lead times, and supplier performance issues. Assist in implementing mitigation actions such as alternate supplier checks, expediting requests, and data collection for risk assessments.

 

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with technical, construction, operations, and finance teams to ensure supply chain requirements are accurately captured. Support translation of technical requirements into procurement documentation under guidance from senior staff.

 

  • Regional Procurement Execution: Coordinate procurement activities across multiple countries in the region. This includes supplier onboarding documentation, quotation collection, purchase order processing, and support for regional sourcing initiatives.

 

  • Governance, Compliance & Systems: Ensure all procurement activities follow established policies, P2P processes, and compliance requirements (ABAC, due diligence, supplier checks). Maintain accurate records in procurement systems and support audit or compliance reviews as needed.

 

  • Reporting & Data Management: Prepare routine supply chain reports such as order tracking updates, supplier performance summaries, project procurement status, and spend reports. Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date data in ERP and procurement systems.

 

  • Health, Safety, and Ethical Sourcing: Follow organisational policies related to workplace safety, information security, and environmental standards. Promote ethical sourcing practices and support sustainability-related data collection or supplier assessments.

 

  • Actively champion and implement the organization’s policies on health & safety, environment, energy, quality, information security, and business continuity, ensuring adherence to incident reporting, legal, and regulatory requirements.

 

The successful candidate:

  • Experience:

10+ years of experience in strategic procurement within construction or infrastructure sectors, preferably with exposure to mission-critical facilities such as data centers. Proven track record in managing procurement (source and destination) across range of Asia Pacific countries.

 

  • Industry Knowledge:

Familiarity with construction procurement practices and equipment requirements specific to data center development and operations. Familiarity with tender processes, supplier negotiations, or contract management.
