What we need:
We are seeking an experienced Regional BIM leader to join our growing organisation! Reporting to the Product Systems Engineering Leader, this role will lead the governance of BIM standards, drive multidisciplinary coordination, and ensure high-quality digital deliverables for the next-generation data centers of our portfolio across the APAC region. You will own the development of Reference Designs for hyperscale and retail product tracks, ensuring scalability, cost efficiency, and compliance with global standards.
This role is pivotal in shaping advanced infrastructure solutions that enable hyperscale growth, high-density and liquid-cooled deployments, and future-ready Artificial Intelligent data center designs—while ensuring uncompromising reliability, efficiency, and sustainability, and leading continuous improvement initiatives in partnership with Operations, Construction and Delivery teams. This is a regional individual contributor role and will be based in Mumbai Office.
Key responsibilities:
BIM Governance & Standards
- Establish and maintain global BIM standards and guidelines for design delivery consultants, ensuring alignment with ISO 19650 and industry best practices.
- Define and own the BIM framework for Basis of Design (BOD), including Level of Development (LOD) requirements, naming conventions, data structures, and model validation protocols.
- Develop Reference Design BIM templates for hyperscale and retail product tracks to enable scalability, consistency, and cost efficiency across APAC projects.
- Create and enforce BIM Execution Plans (BEP) for concept and reference designs, ensuring clarity on roles, responsibilities, and workflows.
- Govern model quality and interoperability standards to support multidisciplinary integration (CSA, MEP, ICT, Fire, Security).
- Ensure digital deliverables (models, drawings, data sets) meet organizational requirements for future-ready designs, including support for digital twin readiness.
- Define data exchange protocols and integration requirements for collaboration platforms (Autodesk Construction Cloud / BIM 360) at the BoD stage.
- Drive continuous improvement of BIM governance by incorporating lessons learned, emerging technologies, and automation opportunities.
Model Development & Test Fits
- Deliver BIM models for Basis of Design and customer-specific whitespace test fits, ensuring accuracy, scalability, and compliance with design standards.
- Prepare conceptual layouts and spatial coordination models for technical rooms and data halls based on customer requirements.
- Validate models for LOD compliance, constructability, and data integrity at the BoD stage.
- Provide model-based insights during design reviews and stakeholder meetings.
Coordination & Model Management
- Lead multidisciplinary coordination across Architectural, Structural, MEP, ELV, ICT, Fire systems, Security, and mission-critical systems.
- Support capacity planning, spatial coordination, and equipment clearances within technical rooms.
- Review and validate models for accuracy, LOD compliance, constructability, and data quality.
- Provide model-based insights during design reviews and stakeholder meetings.
Training & Continuous Improvement
- Conduct BIM training workshops for new team members.
- Stay abreast of ISO 19650 standards, emerging BIM technologies, and best practices to enhance digital delivery.
Actively champion and implement the organization’s policies on health & safety, environment, energy, quality, information security, and business continuity, ensuring adherence to incident reporting, legal, and regulatory requirements.
The successful candidate:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering / Architecture (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or related field); BIM certification preferred.
- 10+ years of experience, with 5+ years in BIM management.
- Proven experience on large, MEP-intensive or mission-critical projects (preferably data centers).
- Strong expertise in Revit, Navisworks Manage, Autodesk Construction Cloud/BIM 360, AutoCAD.
- Solid understanding of ISO 19650 standards, LOD frameworks, and QA/QC workflows.
- Demonstrated ability to lead coordination meetings and manage multiple stakeholders.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
